I think one thing we all forget in these days of shiny new kit, is that all we do as photographers is use a little box to capture light.
that's it.
Photography literally means
photos - light
graphos - write
writing with light.
In the old days it was a piece of coated glass or somthing on those lines, then film and now a CMOS or CCD that records the light. But essentially, all the camera does is stop light getting to the "recording medium" till we want it to, and for as long as we want it exposed
