the 2 of february is Kyndelmisse.
(I think the english word is embolc??)
40 days after christmas and right between 1/11 and 1/05 which was the first spring month in the VERY old days!!

There is a VERY old Nordic myth to this that is amazing,..and nobody seems to know it..

here it goes (I'll be short)
Kyndill means light but Kyndel was also a woman. A woman that had one job to do: one time each month to go to the end of the world; light a torch of fire and lit the moon..

then one day Freja - the godess of love lost her husband. the searched and searched, but in vain..
she then approached Kyndel and pleaded her to go and lit the moon, so they could search for the love in darkness, but Kyndel refused..
they did this three times, and finally Kyndel spoke the very first womans lib sentence known to man:
"Never shall anybody say, that Kyndel will abandon a sister in need"...
And she did it. went to the end of the world and lit the moon, even though the head gods would be angry with her..

Freja found her love - the Love of humanity was saved, and the head gods forgave Kyndel.

And this is the reason why we have 12 months but 13 full moons!!

that's a fact!!
